The Dreamy Distance

The piercing rays of the white light,
Casts a pearly glow, stalking the ghostly night.

Though there reigns a serenity, all pervading,
As the tidal waves,a turmoil within resurfacing.

To pluck it for keep-sake is a desire so constant,
But the luminous orb is a dream,so distant.

The realisation, arouses a pain excruciating,
To repine,is a fate inescapable and binding.

The harder I look at it, the longer I stare,
It sinks in---its distance seems only fair!

In its own distant land, its an enigma,
Gloriously regal,in its beauty and charisma.

Who knows, maybe its glory just an illusion,
Up close,its but a mirage,a disparaging vision!

Harsh,deceptive and unyeilding is  reality,
Let happiness reign in the land of fantasy.
