A FORFIETED LIFE

You loved in that beautifully fleeting moment,
I reeled in emotions that had lain dormant,
Your unabashed mirth was the elixir of life,
It cleansed me of all my strife,
My vision was filled with your apparition,
All  else faded into oblivion,
I was a pliant reed in your steely embrace,
Your arms my haven of solace.
Then your hold abruptly slackened,
I groped,met with emptiness and tumbled;
My unuttered screams echoed in the silence,
My heart bled,pierced by that unforgiving lance.

I attempted to move on and away,
It made me stumble and sway,
But I was resolute and resolved,
Alas!Ifailed..in you,my being Is still trapped.
I breathe ,so i live...but a life forfieted,
The heart a gaping void and the soul so mercifully DEAD
